A rainy day made exponentially more delightful by gathering for tea and hearing from our youth board. Our members and their daughters wrote letters to send to female soldiers who will be deployed during the holiday season, learned about the issue of child marriage and the mental health of female veterans, and gave generously to help meet needs.
Our youth board presented two fantastic charities: Girls Not Brides, an organization that seeks to end child marriage throughout the world and Grace After Fire which serves to help women veterans gain knowledge, insight, and self-renewal.
It was a close vote, but our members voted to support Girls Not Brides, so they will receive the donation from our group.
