At our first quarterly meeting of 2021, our youth board presented Days for Girls, an organization that advances menstrual equity, health, dignity and opportunity for all. Through the production and distribution of eco friendly menstrual products, education, and advocacy, they are working to end the stigma associated with menstruation and support girls and women.
The other organization presented was Make Love Not Scars which helps acid attack survivors in India to get the medical help and support they need in order to take their place in society. Acid attack survivors are outcasts from Indian society. Women and girls, ranging in ages from just six years old to 65, have found a place of acceptance and hope with MLNS.
Both organizations were incredible, and, in the end, Days for Girls won the day!
